Some things just don’t turn out the way you want.
Contracts aren’t as favourable as you’d like. Prospects walk away at the last minute. Relationships aren’t as strong as you thought. Despite promises, their handshake is not their bond. Projects take longer than the Gantt chart.
Mine for lessons
Dealing with disappointments is all about what happens next.
Failures of planning or execution are simple to fix next time. If your ego got in the way, put humble pie in every planning session. Blindsided? Widen your vision.
Sometimes though, it has nothing to do with you. The only lesson: shit happens.
The next steps are most important: put it behind you, reset your course, keep moving.
When things don’t turn out the way you’d like, learn every lesson, get over it, and move on to the next thing.
Skippy Strategy: Run the post mortem, then … move … on.
