Five minutes

Up and down

When you’re short of time (when aren’t you?) you start the meeting on the B of Bang! No muss, no fuss. That thing you need to discuss, you discuss, picking up from last time like there was no gap. The deep and broad assumptions … everyone’s on the same page, everyone’s running at the same objective.

And the first question … are they?

When you’re short of time (when aren’t you?) you close the meeting like a closed book as everyone’s packing up and shipping out as at double time. The deep and broad assumptions … same as at the start.

And the biggest question … are they?

Five minutes at the start, make sure everyone’s pointing in the same direction. Five at the end, mine for understanding on next steps.

Summarise, “This is what we agreed …”

The most important minutes of the meeting.

Skippy strategy: Use those few minutes to sharpen your axe.
