About the numbers

When there’s something about the numbers that feels wrong it’s easy to dismiss it as outside of your area, one of those things you neither control nor understand, and that if it was important someone else – someone who knows about those things – would be all over it. In fact, would have been all over it months or years ago and that these numbers, right here, are the evolved product of all that expertise, maturation and oversight.
Except what if they’re not? What if something feels wrong because something is wrong, and the reason nobody’s doing anything about it, even looking in to it, is because they’re making the same assumptions you just made, or because they’ve taken their eyes of this number because it’s never been interesting in the first place.
So, what if you ask the question anyway? And they you’ll know.
