Being committed
Making a commitment is a big deal.
It doesn’t say, we might get around to doing this thing if nothing better or more lucrative or more shiny or less difficult comes up. That’s something else. That’s wriggling.
Commitments are definite. “I will do this thing.”
Commitments are personal. It’s between you and the other guy. “I promise.”
If it’s harder than you thought, if it takes twice as long, if it involves more research or more effort or more of anything – get over it and get on with it.
Commitments get done.
The flip side … if you aren’t committed to delivering no matter what … don’t say you are.
Maybe’s help nobody. Just say No.
Skippy Strategy: Commitments are precious. Give them only when you’re serious.
