Day one hundred will come
Any time you start something new it’s hard. Driving a car, pushing ten press-ups, learning a language, running a meeting, setting objectives, holding someone accountable, breaking a market. All the unknown unknowns, the scary miss-steps, the things you know to do but don’t know how to do. Dealing with all the things you think they may be thinking, all the things you’re thinking about the things you’re doing. The knowing it’s not going as well as you’d like of feel that it should.
All. Entirely. Normal.
And the way to deal with it? Get on with it. Accept that day two will be better than day one even if it doesn’t feel like it. Understand that day one hundred will come, and with it, more knowledge, more mastery – and yet more questions about the how and how-far to get out of the swamp.
Skippy strategy: Get going. Keep on going.
