Little little things

There are marquee days. When the pitch has to be perfect, the order lands, the prototype whirrs into life and calls for its mama. And everyone smiles and all is good with the world.

For every one of those, there are fifty of prep. When the most exciting things you do are email, phone calls, working through a contract, meetings about X and corridor conversations about Y. The day to day that passes the time and is the actual work that, can you hear it, builds like wave deep in the ocean. Lots of little little things that go towards big big things.

Maybe today was one of the fifty. That feels like it means nothing except you kept the lights on and the wheels turning.

It may have felt like nothing, but it may have been the nail that means the war is won.
