Ninety percent ugly
In the beginning it’s easy. A nice, clean, empty piece of whiteboard. There’s nothing, so there’s nothing to worry about.
And then it all goes ugly.
The process, the act of creation … the part where you form ideas into notions into clay into lines of code into contracts into pretty much anything that actually counts … is ninety percent ugly. It’s a mess. It’s full of false starts and blind alleys and dead-in-the-water thinking and proofs of concepts that prove nothing except you don’t know what you’re doing yet.
The process, the act of creation … is the part where you wrassle something out of the ether. And it has no shape and it has no shape and it has no shape and you’re sure it’s something and then it is.
It’s the inside of a sausage, and it’s a mess until it isn’t.
Skippy strategy: Accept, then push past ugly.
