Only you
When you have the knack, delegating is a lovely thing that comes with the triple benefit of clearing your inbox, getting the work done in the most appropriate place, and nudging your people into taking responsibility and learning about getting things done. All good.
Still, there are some things that only you can do. The things you can’t or shouldn’t delegate and the things where your kind of added value in exactly the kind of value that needs to be added.
Some of these things are demanded by the daily cut and thrust, so you cut and you thrust immediately. The problems come with the discretional things, all of them important yet none of them urgent. They have a tendency to sit. And sit some more.
The only answer: prioritise the important stuff and get on with it.
Skippy strategy: If only you can do it, get on with doing it.
