Run scared

What if?
What if we said something they didn’t like? What if we said No when they wanted a Yes, or Yes when they wanted a No? What would happen then? Would they be offended and run away, or nod sagely and get on with the new normal.
What if we were explicit rather than hiding behind double-talk and subterfuge? Would they hate us for removing the mask or would the respect us for dealing in reality?
What if?
It’s easy, and possibly the default-normal to live in fear of what might happen, especially when we have the power to pull the punch or hide the china. But what if we weren’t afraid? What if we respected reality and dealt with it as an equal? What if we said what needed to be said so everyone knows where they stand?
