The knowing

Bird

The biggest problem with any project? I’m not sure.

That doesn’t mean I don’t know what’s the biggest problem. It means, the biggest problem is always a lack of understanding or definition or clarity or certainty about what’s going on.

The resolution? Ask, Where are we?

Where are we in the grand scheme of the project?

Where are we in relation to understanding the issue?

Where are we on progress?

Where are we on putting Tab A into Slot B?

Where are we on knowing where Slot B is and what shape Tab A needs to be?

Where are we on the choice of technology, the relationship with the customer, the provision of components, the credit position with suppliers?

Where are we?

In any project, there’s a lot to know. And the worst thing about them … not knowing.

Skippy strategy: We need to know where we are. Where are we?
