The patience part

Strategies play out over time. They take consistent attention, effort, action and patience. We can get so caught up in the objective, so keen on the actions, so involved in measuring and monitoring, so focused on doing the things we know we need to do … that we can overlook the patience part.
It takes time. Always, longer than you’d like. Most times, the green shoots don’t start to show for a while.
It’s a balance, but there’s a point where the results aren’t showing but you have to have faith in the process. To keep on with the attention and the effort and the action and trust that they’ll have the impact that you planned them for.
If the plan is in play, don’t waste time worrying the bone. Put your head down and keep on doing what you know to do.
