This time

Ropes

In the crisis, there’s only the problem that’s in front of you. You focus where you can have the greatest impact. The next thing you have to do, then the next, then the next. There’s no time to waste. It’s orientation, observation, decision, action, then back around to the beginning of the OODA loop until you’re out of the hole.

After the crisis, there’s time to work out what happened and why, to repair relationships and put plans and processes in place to make sure it doesn’t happen again.

There’s time, but most times, it doesn’t work that way.

We moan, we slap ourselves on the back, we phew! and wow! about what happened … and we get on with how things were. The new normal is the old normal.

Not this time.

This time, we will learn and we will do something about it.

Skippy strategy: Change starts with a decision.
