Let’s not start in the middle, with all the ifs and buts and maybes of the day.
Let’s start at the beginning. We’re here to achieve this, our plan was to do it like that, the obstacles we’ve come across are these, so now let’s get into the ifs and buts and maybes.
It takes about three minutes extra. It makes for a three times better meeting.
One times, because it gathers everyone’s attention before they’re expected to add value. Let’s face it, they’re never quite there when the flag drops.
Two times, because it gets them to the same place and facing in the same direction: what this meeting is trying to achieve. No danger that someone us in update mode, another is brainstorming and the third is decision making.
Three times, because the day is framed. It fits here. It means this.
