To lose sight

Hill

We spend a lot of time nudging the stick. A little more to the left, a bit more right, left again now, whatever we can to find a path that takes us from here to our chosen horizon. And all the manoeuvring can become an end it itself. As we squeeze a little more efficiency here and an ounce more effectiveness there it’s easy to lose sight of the purpose. The thing we were trying to do in the first place. To climb the hill, to make the customer happy, to improve our place in the world by improving theirs.

What would happen if you forgot the manoeuvring for a moment and set the compass back again to that true North? The internal agenda will fall away, the external agenda will be clear, you’ll be left with a clear path.

Skippy strategy: Act in pursuit of the main goal.
