What you know
There are so many things we know that we know. We’re so sure that we know that we never stop to think again. Is it? Was it? Could it? Maybe there’s another way of looking at this, another way of doing it, another supplier who sets things differently and could save us time or cost, another customer we should focus on, one who has exactly the kind of problems we’d like to get into if only we knew they were there. All that received knowledge that’s edging itself out of date. All those assumptions about those people who do those things where, if we thought again, our assumptions might be past their sell-by, the people may have grown and the things may have changed.
It helps to know what we know. It also helps, more, to question it every now and again.
Skippy strategy: Question everything, even what you know.
