Trouble

Some people are trouble.

They suck energy out of the room and make life more complicated than is should be.

The best way to avoid getting dragged under is to swim in a different pool. If they’re on your team, ejector seat. If you’re on theirs, escape route. If it’s some kind of partnership where you have no choice, bring them closer to the centre and keep them busy with solo projects well away from the group work.

Everyone knows when the sum of the parts isn’t positive. Instead, treat it like a simultaneous equation; where everything has a value and your job is work out what it is.
