The wind and the waves

Travelling by boat, it’s a good idea to keep an eye on the wind and waves. It’s dangerous out there – weather, whales, rocks, debris. Inside, all should be ship shape and bristling excitement – when will we see land?
But some boats:
– the crew is self obsessed, lazy, ignores the weather and loses sight of its surroundings
– bickering over direction, provisions, who pulls the ropes, which way is north
– ignore leaks, or prod at them, making them worse
– spend the whole time bailing, and forget the reason they’re out there
Travelling by boat, it’s a good idea to keep an eye on the wind and the waves as you get everyone working together with a common goal and clear roles.
Skippy Strategy: Set the watch, and attend to the crew.
