One right choice: deal with the mistake and squeeze it for learning.
Accept it – so you can get on with more important thing of fixing it.
Fix it – so it doesn’t keep biting you.
Share it – so everyone knows you know you screwed up, you aren’t trying to hide it, and that exposing mistakes is the best way to put things straight.
Learn from it – so there isn’t a next time.
The biggest mistake of all is not learning from the mistake.
Skippy Strategy: A culture that deals with mistakes the right way isn’t built in a witch hunt. Create ceremonies that laugh at, celebrate and reward honesty – learn every lesson as a team.
