Sharpen your tools

Tools take a beating in times of stress.
Investor deck, sales presentation, financial controls, project management, management team, feature set, product family. Under the x-ray attention of outside forces, any part of your standard kit might show flaws – some of them serious.
Yet, despite the weaknesses, you battle through. You endure.
And when the stress is over, it’s tempting to put the tools back in the bag and relax, “They did just fine. Right?”
But if they’re blunt and cracked today, they’ll be blunt and cracked tomorrow. And next time you need them, maybe they’ll break in your hand.
Whenever you find a broken tool, fix it, or throw it away and get a new one.
Skippy Strategy: Next time you’re frustrated by a blunted tool, don’t just work harder, hone it.
