If you make mistakes every day, if all your products fail to deliver the promise, if you’re never on time, if the key word is chaos, you won’t get many breaks and when you need a favour, everyone will look the other way, or when you need the benefit of the doubt, there won’t be any.
Because it’s a bank.
Make deposits of creditable efforts and actions every day, of doing the right thing, of fixing mistakes quickly and without fuss, and you’ll have credit in the bank when you need it. You will get a break. They will let you sort things out and they will accept your apology.
The bank fills slowly, with every little thing you do right. But it can empty fast when you cover things up or bear false witness. Build it whilst you don’t need it.
