About them

Once upon a time there was a manager who didn’t know what it was to manage, and she huffed and she puffed until nobody paid her any attention as they got on with doing exactly what they wanted, just like before she arrived.
And then she realised, management is the art of engaging your people so they give their best. That it’s not about huffing and puffing, it’s about clearing the path.
So she took a minute, worked out what ”the best” meant in the context of each person and this place … and then worked with everyone to enable them to give it.
The end.
And the moral of the story … it’s not about you, it’s about them.
No matter what you’ve read or heard, the only right way to manage is the one that gets the best from these people in this place.
