Bringing it

There a people you rely on. They always do what they say they’re going to do, they hit their deadlines, they go the extra mile. They beaver away out of sight and then pop their head up just when you most need them. They’re just there. Doing it. Bringing it.
And because they’re always there, it’s easy to take them for granted. To expect their exceptional performance so much that you fail to notice its exceptional-ness, to see them set only against their own standards rather than against the background levels of low grade radiation you get from most everyone else.
Don’t do that. Don’t ignore the remarkable. Call it out. Say thank you. Shine attention on the good things you see, make that attention glow bright.
Put as much effort into the good as you put into the bad.
