Different path

It might be easier to live by their standards. To miss deadlines, to have a relaxed relationship with commitments, to say yes in the creeping knowledge that you’ve already said too many yeses and most should have be noes, to let things slide without an update.
It might be easier not to care. To not ask the obvious questions, to not ask the stupid questions, to not pay attention, or turn away when you see waste or slacking or abuse or bullying or any damn thing your mother told you to watch out for.
It might be easier but that’s not the path you’re on.
Bringing new things into the world means having standards you set for yourself and caring how things are done. It means walking a rockier road, all the way until you’re done.
