Inventing-the-future people
When you’re inventing the future, don’t ask people who live in the past to help.
Look in the rear view mirror, just not all the time. Use the past to learn the lessons of what’s been tried before, to remember where you’ve been and understand how you got here, to see if anything scary is gaining ground. (Warning: Objects in the mirror are closer than they appear.)
Face forward, dream a little, and get on with making things happen.
Inventing-the-future people see problems as opportunities to climb, circumvent, out-think, out-manoeuvre, tear through, deal with. They don’t need motivating so much as hanging onto.
Know your history, then build your team with dreamers who do.
Skippy Strategy: It’s easier to find yay-sayers than turn the heads of natural nay-sayers.
