Jump the hoop

That thing they want you to do, that hoop they’ve asked you to jump through, the extra documentation, the certification, the new process to follow … doesn’t matter what you think about it, it’s their game and they set the rules … no point it getting upset or raging at the machine … it’s just a hoop. Jump it, don’t jump it, it’s a choice. If you do, it will have been jumped and you can get on with the rest of the game. If you don’t, it will remain unjumped and you can get on with finding another game to play.
In the sweep of play, every moment feels significant, and personal, and adversarial. But it isn’t – unless you make it so. And it certainly doesn’t have to be.
Just jump the hoop and get on with the rest of the fun stuff.
Skippy strategy: Jump the hoop. Don’t jump the hoop.
