Someone who commits

When we shake hands on the deal, that’s the deal.
No going back. No reworking. No stretching things out and renegotiating at the last minute. No taking advantage. No salami slicing. No finger on the scale.
Not for me. Not for you.
Just look ‘em in the eye, and shake. When it’s done, it’s done.
That’s the deal with shaking hands. It means something. About honesty, about integrity, about respect.
Contrariwise – it means something else. When people back out, or rework, or wriggle around after the fact – what it means to them … tactics. What their handshake says about them … untrustworthy, dishonest, a chancer.
Don’t be that guy.
Be the other guy. The hand shaker who acts on it. Who finds ways to overcome issues and stays true to the spirit. Someone who commits.
The kind of guy you want looking back from the mirror.
