The example

Oranges

You are what you do. And your organisation is made of the same stuff.

Sitting in your chair, with your position, you have more influence than is apparent from the org chart. What you do, they do. What you ignore, they ignore. How you act, they act. Where you pay attention, attention is paid by everyone.

It’s the other side of show-don’t-tell. What you show is what they see and they follow what they see far more than what they hear.

It’s the difference between talking about being on time and actually being on time. It’s the difference between paying lip service to deadlines and deliverables and quality and attention to detail – and actually hitting those deadlines with deliverables and the correct quality in every detail.

You are what you do. And your organisation is made of the same stuff.

Skippy strategy: Set the example, and you get what you give.
