Their dots

The harsh reality, they don’t care. Not about you anyway, or about all the things you have to say about your self, your team or your products and services. They care about themselves, their own team and the objectives they’re trying to hit and the changes they’re trying to push.
The only time they might care about you, your team and your products and services is if it helps them do what they want to do.
So start there, with them and what they want to do. Start there, stay there, and stay there some more. Only when you understand them, their place in the world and the stick they’re trying to shift, maybe, just maybe, you’ll have something to say that connects some of their dots. If you don’t, and you can’t, at least you’ve had an interesting conversation.
Skippy strategy: Start with them, stay with them.
