Too close
You’re pressed up against the problem, the day to day of it, the people and their positions. You know this. You’ve got this. You formed your opinion before you came in the room, before you started the year. You see it as clearly as anyone, you understand the edges of the thing, it’s weaknesses and where and when to push.
As clear as you are, you can be too close to a thing to see it as clearly as you need to. You get wedded to your own perspective, to your past mistakes and the adjustments you made, to your gut. And they’re all good – but you still need to step back, to allow alternative views and voices, to add colour and nuance.
Find someone to challenge your assumptions. Get them to ask questions. Listen to your answers.
