Tools for the job

Sometimes you really do have to just get by.
Using the wrong tool in the wrong way because there’s nothing else to hand and you have to get the job done. A tape measure to do a laser’s job, a mouse and laptop instead of a pen and tablet, a slick tyre to deal with the rain, the library and legal dictionary instead of half an hour with a lawyer.
Cash can be the limiter. Or if it’s a one off. Or there’s some learning-value in doing things the hard way or the old-fashioned way or the jury-rig way that will pay back in spades. Maybe you have nothing better to do (Really?). Fair enough.
Every other time, get the tools for the job and do the job right.
Skippy strategy: The tools for the job have a habit of paying for themselves.
