All the talents
Every person in the team has their place. Developers develop, project managers manage projects, brick layers lay bricks, salespeople sell, operations operate.
And so the world goes round.
Except pigeon holes slow things down, ignore special knowledge, stifle serendipity, minimise idea flow and slowly slowly develop into silos.
Every player has broader skills and shinier brilliance than their specific role demands. Each has wider experience and deeper understanding than you use, they know more about their parts than you and see problems and opportunities that you miss.
Bring them around the table – not everyone to every meeting, that way madness lies – to add value wherever and whenever you can.
Don’t see someone as their job title. Use all their talents.
