Connect more dots

With a broader view of all that’s happening in your team … knowing who’s working on what, what’s proving easier or harder than expected, where the moving parts are sticking, how things are progressing against the plan and the budget and the ambition … you’re in position to connect more dots than anyone else.

So connect them.

When something is proving more difficult or needing more resource or could benefit from an injection of energy or expertise, put Andy in touch with Beth. Give them more to go on than a name – tell Andy why Beth and Beth why Andy – explain the issue as well as you can,  why you think it’s important for them both to add each other to their schedule, and then get out of their way.

Don’t ask for updates (for yet more delay), just check in later to show you care.

Skippy strategy: Connect people around the dots.
