Dead end
You did some great work. The kind of work that has legs. The kind of legs that are connected to the hip bone, and the back bone, and the head bone. Problem is … nobody knows about it.
You did the work and you kept it to yourself.
Maybe in the belief that information is power and you’d rather keep it inside a one person circle, maybe you did the work but forgot to tell anyone else because you went on to other great work somewhere else, maybe you started writing the report by got distracted and are still waiting for some mythical perfect time and one or two final pieces of information before you commit everything to writing and pass it along.
Maybe.
Whatever the reason, you know but the organisation doesn’t. So all that great work was a dead end. Nothing. Ho hum.
Skippy strategy: Talk about it.
