Good places
The kind of people you want to have around aren’t the kind that want to be told what to do. The ones you want, they want to take responsibility, they want to figure things out, they want their curious minds to poke around to find questions that need answering, they want their enquiring minds to understand the context, and their want their creative minds to be given reign to come up with smart ways of closing the circle.
That’s what most managers say. And some even hire them. And then some, more that you’d think, tell them what to do, tell them how, and tell them when and won’t tell them why.
Which is bad news for them but good news for you, because some good people – the kind of people you want to have around – are always looking for good places.
Skippy strategy: Good places are good for good people.
