Home runs alone
There are people who always do what they say they’re going to do. The may miss the odd outcome goal – because none of us hit every objective – but they work to deadlines and meet all their process goals, and they occasionally hit home runs too.
These are the people you want on your team, and if you’re one of them, good people will want to join it too.
Then there are people who make it more of a lottery. The might do what they say they’re going to do, they might respond on schedule, they might hit their objectives and they may even knock it out of the park every now and again – and who doesn’t love that however it comes about? And maybe, just maybe, those home runs they hit will make up for all the little disappointments.
Skippy strategy: Teams aren’t built on home runs alone.
