How we want to be

Every now and again, maybe quarterly, take your team out of the office, away from the day to day, with laptops closed and phone discipline fully engaged, and spend time working on the team itself.
You know, on the team rather than in the team. On how we do things around here rather than doing things around here. On the ways we make decisions and how we commit our time and that of our colleagues rather than actually working on those decisions and fulfilling on those commitments.
Next, what are we working on? Not, what are we working on for other people, but what we’re working on that helps develop our team and our organisation. And what should we work on? How should we develop? What actions can we take that move us closer to how we want to be?
Skippy strategy: Work out how you want to be, then follow through.
