See a problem
What you want on your team and the kind of people who see a problem, pick it up and take responsibility for it. They may not do the work, but they make sure someone does, they may not get in the day to day of it, but they’re sure to keep an eye and follow the progress, they may not be technically responsible, but they let everyone know that they’ve taken responsibility anyway – and they keep everyone who needs to know inside the loop on the what and the when and the how of the thing. They care and they show that they care.
What they don’t do: ignore the problem, chuck it at someone else and forget about it, poke and moan about it without doing anything about it, and never ever a single actual thing that shows they care.
Skippy strategy: The people you want, those who care.
