Soft shoeing

It’s entirely possible that you can figure it out on your own. That you can pull together all the available data, light it up with understanding and insight, and come to a clear and reasonable conclusion. In reality, there are times when this is the only available option. It was probably like that at the start, when there was only you to do the work. It might be like that now, when the data is sensitive or the experience unique.
Most times though, it doesn’t have to be that way. Most times, actually, is shouldn’t be that way. Because it’s not the fastest way to the greatest understanding, and because it teaches your team that they don’t matter … and some of them will stop turning up. Which means when you need them fully engaged (like every single day) maybe they’ll be soft-shoeing.
