Support and understanding

Your best people are the one you want to model, the ones you think of and hear about on good days, the ones to bring their energy and creativity to the room, who do what they say they’re going to do, who your other people want to work with. They may not all deliver against every metric every time, but they’re there or there abouts and you wish you had more like them.
What happens when your good people become not so good?
Has anything changed in the organisation or the team that’s made things go south? Knowing they deliver, have you asked more of them to the point of debilitating pressure? What about outside of the job, has something changed there?
It’s always good to know what’s wrong, maybe you can ease their pain or offer support and understanding.
Skippy strategy: Don’t jump to conclusions. Ask, and look for remedies.
