Everyone on the team is a piece. A piece of the whole, a piece of the project, a piece of the progress, a piece of everyone else’s piece. We put our head down and do the best we can with the resources and knowledge available.
Assuming a general limit on resources, the quickest route to improving that best: increase knowledge.
Give them more information about how their piece of the pie fits with all the others. Let them see and feel the what and the how and the who of the other pieces. Give them the bigger picture so they know where they’re going.
Double down … ask them. Ask them to increase the available knowledge. Get them to share their ideas and perspective. Find out how things look through their eyes, from their seat, knowing what they know.
