Endless baby steps

It’s possible that you just made the most giant leap forward. That you jumped a tall obstacle in a single bound and can now survey an entirely new and brighter vista.
It’s more likely that anytime you made a giant leap it didn’t come in anything like a single bound, but rather as seemingly endless baby steps from where you were, around any number of intermediate waypoints, through the snow, and only after much effort and some moments to confusion … to the place you find yourself today.
And that’s how it goes. A little hard fought win after an earlier hard fought win. Around, under or over each barrier one baby step at a time, one after another. And every now and again, when you weren’t expecting it, a pretty good view.
