Noodle some more
Some problems are overwhelming. How on earth …? They can stop you in your tracks, paralyse, make you question everything and do nothing. But standing still gets you nowhere.
What’s the alternative?
Get on with action as an antidote to inertia.
Doing things isn’t just how you get things done, it is a way of learning about what you’re doing and about what needs to be done.
Overcome the overwhelm by taking steps in the full expectation of having to retrace.
Start with small movements – a drawing, a whiteboard session with some smart friends, a few steps then review what you learned. Noodle. Look from fresh angles. Move forward, move back, move forward, move sideways, move forward, move back. Noodle some more.
Learn-a-long the path.
Keep working the problem, keep moving, and … look up … you’re moving forward.
Skippy strategy: Whenever you’re stuck, noodle the problem and keep taking steps.
