It doesn’t matter that there’s an easier option, or a more pleasant one, or another that offers more gain.
When you take on staff, or commitments, or responsibilities … there are consequences. One of which is doing the things you don’t want to do (but you know you must) at times when you don’t want to do them (but you know you must).
Leadership is about making choices. Absolutely
That doesn’t mean making choices in the moment for an easier life – it means taking decisions and following through on them even when it’s hard, or no fun, or a holiday weekend. It may not be what you want, but it’s a decision you already made.
