There are always new opportunities raising their heads out of their little rabbit holes. The question is which is the next one you’re going to chase. But whilst you keep your eyes trained for new and exciting opportunities to follow, don’t neglect the rabbits you’ve already caught.
Business as usual may not be as exciting or pregnant with mysterious and compelling opportunities, but it’s right there in your hand.
Neglect it, and it may wither, or falter, or die.
Fail to foster, and it may go somewhere more loving and responsive.
There are plenty of opportunities to improve and build and scale and grow and develop the things you already have. The risks are lower, the pay-off more certain, the lead times shorter.
Skippy strategy: Keep your eyes open for opportunity, be responsive, and focus the bulk of your attention on the bets you’re winning already.
