Never important

When there’s something about the numbers that feels wrong it’s easy to dismiss it as outside of your area. One of those things you neither control nor understand. That if it was important someone else – someone who knows about those things – would be all over it.

And, they were probably all over it months ago and that these numbers right here, they’re the evolved product of all that expertise, maturation and oversight.

Except what if they’re not? And your feeling is right.

What if it feels wrong because it is wrong?

And the reason nobody’s doing even looking in to it is because they’re making the same bald assumptions you made. And because everyone else has taken their eyes off this number because it was never important before.

Until it is.
