Rearview mirror
It goes something like this: rubbish in, rubbish out. No surprises, no one challenges the concept, self evident, nothing to see here.
Yet we keep testing…
Oh my! Everything takes so long. You know what you want to do and you know how long it should take, and then it takes twice or thrice or seven times longer. And more than that. And then, rearview mirror time, man!, it’s taken so long to get here.
At the end of the week, or month, or year, everything looks pretty much like it did last week, or month, or year.
It’s frustrating.
And deceptive.
It might have taken longer than you’d like. But turn around and see just how far you’ve come. It felt like you were wading through treacle, two steps shuffling, then another shuffle the other way, but you did move forward, everything has grown and you are in a better place today than you were the last time you took a minute.
Skippy strategy: It’s a long game which you play just by moving forward.
