Removing the mask

What if?
What if we said what had to be said, that they didn’t like? What if we said No when they wanted a Yes, or Yes when they wanted a No? What would happen? Would they be offended and run away, or nod grudgingly and get on with the new normal.
What if we were explicit, not hiding behind double-talk and subterfuge? Would they hate us for removing the mask or respect us for dealing in reality?
It’s easy to fall for the default-normal of living in fear of what might happen. Especially when it’s in our power to pull punches or hide the china.
But what if we weren’t afraid? What if we respected reality, shook its hand and dealt with it as an equal? What if we said what needed to be said so everyone knows where they stand?
