With your head down and working on the day to day, you can fall into a pattern, a practice, a process, a way of working, where what you do is what you always do, where the actions you’re involved in have a higher profile than the point of the actions. A bit like going through the motions, a lot like same ol’ same ol’.
Pull the damn brake.
Take a quick minute with the deeper questions. Is this still valid? Are we moving in the direction we want to move? Is there a better way? Is there a faster, cheaper, smarter way? Pay attention when you hesitate.
The big trick is to listen to honest answers.
If you’re on the wrong road, change it.
