Having options
It’s great having options. We could do this, we can do that, maybe the other thing too. It’s great to keep flexible, able to go this way or that way and react in the moment to any new options that slides its way onto the table.
Problem is, if we keep everything open, no decisions get taken and nothing gets done.
Sometimes, most times, keeping things open actually closes down initiative and progress. Everything is in balance, waiting, waiting, not actionable, just nudged a little every now and again, everybody ready, ready, ready for something to get nailed down, anything, so at least they can take one step closer to action.
It’s frustrating, and sometimes, most times, nothing really happens and nothing really changes and the only new data is a new date.
Skippy strategy: Make a decision and get on with getting on – there’s almost always wriggle room.
