Most times, the most productive use of our time is to work on the things we can control. Not waste energy on the competition, the departed team member or the customer that got away. Rather, to keep putting one foot in front of the other in pursuit of the destination we’ve decided to head for. To do the work. To building the team and remembering our north and solving the problems along the way.
Some times though, some times we can’t help ourselves. When you feel like someone is undermining you and fair process, when that team member got seduced by underhand practices, or when the enthusiastic customer is choked by vested interests. You may not waste energy, but bad actors sap it all the same.
And after you’re done cursing, one foot in front of the other, do the work, solve problems.
Skippy strategy: The work is always the work.
